How to cancel Nintendo Switch Online
Turn off auto-renewal at least 48 hours before your membership expires.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Turn off auto-renewal at least 48 hours before your membership expires.
- On the website: sign in to your Nintendo Account at accounts.nintendo.com/portal, select Nintendo Switch Online, select Cancel Your Pass by Turning Off Auto-Renewal in the Active Plan section, then select Confirm.
- On Nintendo Switch 2: open Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu, select the purchasing account, select your icon in the upper right for Account Information, then select Cancel Your Subscription by Turning Off Automatic Renewal.
- On Nintendo Switch: open Nintendo eShop, select the purchasing account, select your icon in the upper right, highlight Nintendo Switch Online on the left, then select Cancel Your Subscription by Turning Off Automatic Renewal.
Good to know
- Your membership stays active through the end of the current term. After it expires you lose Nintendo Switch Online benefits.
- Save Data Cloud backup is no longer available after expiry, but Nintendo says you have 180 days to resubscribe and regain access.
- Family members lose access if you had a family plan.
- Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed without an active paid membership.
Refunds and fees
Nintendo says you will not receive refunds or credits for the remaining time on your subscription.
