How to cancel Home Chef
Cancel by pausing your account. Do it before Friday 12 PM CST the week before delivery.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- On the website: log in, click Account in the upper right, then open the Account Settings tab.
- Find the pause option at the bottom of the left-side tabs and give your reason when prompted.
- In the mobile app: tap Account at the bottom right, select My Settings, then select Pause My Account at the bottom.
- Wait for the cancellation confirmation screen and the confirmation email. Home Chef says your cancellation is not complete until you get both.
Good to know
- The deadline is before Friday at 12 PM CST the week before your next delivery. Home Chef cannot cancel orders that have already been finalized, processed or shipped.
- Home Chef says pausing is effectively a cancellation, and you can log back in and reactivate whenever you want.
- Cancelling does not cancel your first order or any order already processed.
- If you set an automatic restart date, your account reactivates on that date. To remove it, reactivate and then pause again without choosing a restart date. An indefinitely paused account stays inactive until you reactivate it.
Refunds and fees
The cancellation page does not mention refunds. Home Chef has a separate article on why a subscription was charged or renewed.
