How to cancel Dashlane
After cancelling you can still log in, but your passwords are export-only.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Paid by credit card on the Dashlane website: in the Dashlane app in a computer browser (not the mobile or macOS apps), open the Vault menu in the top-left corner and select Subscription.
- Select Cancel your subscription in the right panel.
- Select Continue cancellation on the next page.
- Paid through Google Play, the Apple App Store or PayPal: cancel directly with that company using its guide.
Good to know
- These steps are for personal plans. Professional plan admins have a separate article.
- You keep your plan until the current billing period ends, and autorenewal is turned off.
- Your saved data stays in your account. You can still log in, but passwords are available for export only. You cannot add, edit, copy or view them. Export your passwords to a CSV file before the plan ends.
- Deleting your account removes all your data, including logins, personal information and financial data. Dashlane says the only way to stop its emails is to delete the account.
- Outside the United Kingdom you can no longer buy new Dashlane plans with PayPal. If you cancel, you cannot use PayPal to pay for Dashlane again.
Refunds and fees
Dashlane describes refunds only for credit card purchases made on its website. The refund link appears in the right panel after you cancel, and Dashlane advises not to leave before requesting it. For Google Play, Apple or PayPal purchases, check with those providers.
