How to cancel Hinge (Hinge+ and HingeX)
Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Billed through Apple: open Apple's subscriptions page, tap Hinge, then tap Cancel Subscription.
- Billed through Hinge on iPhone (payment powered by Stripe): open the Hinge app, tap the gear icon for Account Settings, tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
- No longer have the app? Hinge's page links to a Stripe page where you can cancel. Use the email address that receives your Hinge subscription emails, even if it differs from your Hinge account email.
- Google Play on Android: open Google Play's subscriptions page, tap Hinge, tap Cancel Subscription and follow the instructions.
Good to know
- Hinge says subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the next billing period.
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. For Stripe-billed subscriptions, deleting the app does not cancel it, but deleting your Hinge account cancels it immediately and you lose remaining benefits.
- To move from HingeX to Hinge+, cancel HingeX first, then subscribe to Hinge+.
- Hinge's page does not say exactly when benefits end after cancelling.
Refunds and fees
Hinge's cancellation page does not describe refunds for cancelling. It points to a separate How can I request a refund article.
