How to cancel HBO Max
Find out who bills you first. Annual plans keep charging monthly until the term ends.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in. The top of the page shows who bills you.
- If you are billed directly, choose Cancel Your Subscription and confirm.
- If you are billed through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or a TV or mobile provider, cancel with that provider instead.
Good to know
- Deleting the HBO Max app does not cancel your subscription. It renews automatically until you cancel.
- You can keep streaming until your billing period ends.
- Cancelling a 12-month subscription mid-term: you keep being charged the monthly installments until the 12 months are up.
- No cancel option on the page? That usually means a third party handles your billing.
