How to cancel Apple subscriptions (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
Billed through the App Store? Cancel here, not inside the app.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Many subscriptions are billed through this platform. If the company's own website has no cancel button, this is probably where it lives.
Steps
- On iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to end.
- Scroll down if needed and tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.
- Check the subscription now shows an 'Expires on' date. That means it is cancelled and will not renew.
Good to know
- Deleting an app does not cancel its subscription.
- If you do not see Cancel Subscription, the subscription is already cancelled and will not renew.
- Cancel free trials more than 24 hours before the renewal date or they may renew.
- Cannot find the subscription? It may be billed through a different Apple Account, or by the company directly. Apple Support has an issue-specific route for this.
Refunds and fees
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not the app's developer. Use Apple Support's refund request page.
