How to cancel Google Play subscriptions (Android)
Billed through Google Play? Cancel it in Play Store, not inside the app.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Many subscriptions are billed through this platform. If the company's own website has no cancel button, this is probably where it lives.
Steps
- Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
- Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to end.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Good to know
- Uninstalling an app does not stop billing. Cancel the subscription itself.
- Make sure you are signed in to the Google account that was billed. Subscriptions are listed per account.
- If a service is not listed, you were probably billed by the company directly or through another provider.
Refunds and fees
Refunds for Google Play purchases go through Google Play Help, not the app's developer.
