How to cancel Dropbox
Cancelling drops you to the free 2 GB plan. Move your files first.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Log in at dropbox.com.
- Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the bottom-left corner.
- Click Manage account.
- Click Cancel plan at the bottom of the page.
- Select a reason for cancelling.
- Click Continue canceling or Confirm change and follow the prompts.
Good to know
- Your account converts to Dropbox Basic (2 GB) at the end of your current billing cycle.
- If you are over the 2 GB limit, Dropbox warns that you may be unable to sync, upload, share, move or preview files, and it may delete files you own to bring the account under the limit. Download or move your files before the plan ends.
- You should get an email titled Dropbox Plan will not renew, and no further charges.
- No Cancel plan option? You probably bought on a mobile device and need to cancel with that app store.
- Family and team plans have their own cancellation steps on Dropbox's help site.
Refunds and fees
