How to cancel Planet Fitness
Cancel in person, by mail or online. Give at least 8 days' notice before your billing date.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- Pick one method: visit your home club in person, mail a written notice to your home club asking to end your membership, or log in to the member portal on planetfitness.com.
- Do it at least 8 days before your next billing date (monthly memberships) or before your annual fee date (annual fees).
- Keep proof of the cancellation: a confirmation, a copy of the letter, and the date you sent it.
- Check your next statement. Planet Fitness says billing changes can take up to 7 days to take effect.
Good to know
- If your membership has a minimum term and you end it early, Planet Fitness says a $58 buyout fee applies.
- Planet Fitness says policies and procedures may vary by location based on state and local rules, so confirm with your home club.
