How to cancel EA Play
How you cancel depends on where you joined: EA account, PlayStation or Xbox.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- PC (EA app membership): go to your EA Account and sign in with the account you used to join EA Play. Open the Subscriptions and Memberships tab, select Cancel membership under Your membership, then select Cancel membership again on the page that opens.
- PlayStation: sign in to your PlayStation account management page, select Subscription, then select Turn Off Auto-Renew next to your EA Play membership.
- Xbox: sign in to your Microsoft account, choose Services & subscriptions, choose Manage next to your EA Play membership and cancel it.
- Steam: EA's page does not list in-account steps. It says to contact Steam Support.
Good to know
- You keep membership access until the membership period ends. After that you can no longer access games in The Play List.
- Game progress is kept unless you manually delete your save files. Purchases you made with the 10% member discount are yours to keep.
- On PC, your payment method is removed at the next billing date, and you can reverse the cancellation until then.
- On PlayStation or Xbox, EA says to contact that platform's support if you want the membership to end immediately.
- To rejoin later, use the EA Play website.
Refunds and fees
EA says EA Play memberships are generally non-refundable. One exception: if you upgrade to EA Play Pro through the EA app, you are refunded for the remaining paid time on your original membership. The page also points to EA's Great Game Guarantee.
