How to cancel Patreon (paid memberships)
Cancel each creator membership under Settings, then Memberships. Patreon has no pause.
First: cancel wherever you are billed. If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or a phone/TV provider bills you, cancelling on the company's own site will not stop the charges.
Steps
- On a computer, log in and switch to your member profile if you have one. Open Settings from the left-side menu and go to the Memberships tab.
- Find the membership, click View Details, then click Cancel membership and confirm.
- Choose whether to stay on as a free member. Turn that option off if you do not want it, then click Save and continue.
- In the mobile app: on the Home screen tap the creator's name, tap the three dots at the top right, select Your membership, choose Edit membership, then tap Cancel membership. Scroll down and confirm.
Good to know
- Your membership will not renew for the next billing period. You keep access to paid content until the end of your current billing period.
- If the creator uses per-creation billing, you may have a final charge for paid posts made before you cancelled.
- Patreon has no pause feature. To stop payments temporarily, cancel and re-subscribe later.
- Still being charged? Check Billing History under Settings. Patreon says you may have another account, so try resetting your password with each of your possible email addresses.
Refunds and fees
Patreon says it does not typically offer refunds since payments go directly to creators. If you think a charge was made in error, you can submit a request for review.
